SOLIHULL MOORS 4 Vs MSA BURNTWOOD WALKING FC 3
B'HAM OVER 65s CUP - SEMI FINAL | 15.04.2026
Solihull Moors booked their place in the BCWFL Over 65s League Cup Final with a thrilling 4–3 victory over MSA Burntwood Walking Football in a dramatic semi-final clash.
Heading into the game, history suggested a tight encounter. In the previous seven meetings, Moors had won four and drawn three — all by the narrowest of margins — and this contest proved no different.
Played on a warm afternoon at Coleshill Town FC, Moors started superbly. Mick O’Dwyer opened the scoring to set the tone, before Graham Liddiard doubled the lead with a composed finish. John McGinnell then added a third, giving Moors a commanding 3–0 advantage at half time.
Moors continued their momentum into the second half, with Brendan Mulcahy adding a fourth goal that appeared to put the game beyond doubt.
However, Burntwood had other ideas.
In a remarkable turnaround, they fought back with three goals to reduce the deficit to 4–3, setting up a tense and nervy finish. Burntwood pushed hard for an equaliser, hitting the woodwork and creating several dangerous chances.
It took a series of outstanding saves from Bob Parry to preserve Moors’ lead, with the goalkeeper playing a crucial role in seeing the game out. On another day, the scoreline could have swung dramatically the other way.
Despite the late pressure, Moors held firm to secure victory and progress to the final.
The win sets up a showdown with Coventry in the cup final on 29th April 2026 — Moors’ third final in as many years. With the league title already secured, the team now has the opportunity to complete a remarkable league and cup double for the third consecutive season.
