The evening was opened by club founder Billy Stokes, who gave a heartfelt speech about the origins of the club and its incredible journey. From humble beginnings to a well-organised and highly respected setup, the club has grown rapidly thanks to the commitment and camaraderie of everyone involved.

The event was about more than just trophies. It was a celebration of the people behind the scenes – the volunteers, supporters, and contributors – whose efforts help the club stand out as a model of community football.

Throughout the evening, the strong relationship between the Walking Football Club and the Solihull Moors Foundation was proudly acknowledged. This partnership has grown significantly and now extends to Solihull Moors Football Club itself, underlining the growing influence of walking football in the region.

Paul Clarke took to the stage to share an encouraging update on the club’s social media reach. With 70,000 views every 28 days on Facebook, he challenged the club to aim higher and reach 250,000 views, urging members to like, share, and contribute to content. Paul also received a well-deserved Appreciation Award for his dedication to promoting the club online.
