Solihull Moors Walking Football Crowned Champions

Solihull Moors Over 50s produced an outstanding unbeaten run to lift the Midlands Cup in Nottingham, overcoming both strong opposition and sweltering conditions to secure a well-deserved tournament victory.

Played in intense heat, the Moors squad showed resilience, organisation and quality throughout the day. Tony Newton (Tee) played a key role in setting up the squad, while an injured Ricky provided valuable support and guidance from the sidelines.

Across six matches, Moors delivered a series of excellent performances, remaining unbeaten and demonstrating their strength at both ends of the pitch.

The campaign began with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Unity WFC, followed by an emphatic 4–0 win against Etwall WFC. Another disciplined display saw Moors edge past Hucknall WFC 1–0, before a competitive 2–2 draw with Shrewsbury 99ers in one of the standout games of the tournament.

Moors continued their momentum with a dominant 5–1 win over Stratford Town WFC, showcasing their attacking quality. The final game saw a solid 1–1 draw against Loughborough WFC, ensuring Moors completed the tournament unbeaten.

With four wins and two draws, Solihull Moors were deserved winners of the Midlands Cup, combining defensive discipline with clinical finishing across all six matches.

It was a fantastic team effort throughout, with every player contributing to a memorable tournament success.
