SOLIHULL MOORS 1 Vs COLESHILL WALKING FOOTBALL 1
B'HAM OVER 55s CUP - SEMI FINAL | 22.03.2026
Solihull Moors 1–1 Coleshill Walking Football (Coleshill win 3–2 on penalties)
Solihull Moors were narrowly defeated on penalties in a dramatic Over 55s League Cup semi-final, drawing 1–1 with Coleshill Walking Football before losing 3–2 in the shootout.
It was a cracking game of walking football, with contrasting styles on display. Moors dominated the first half, creating a number of clear chances, only to be repeatedly denied by an outstanding Coleshill goalkeeper who produced a series of exceptional saves.
Despite Moors’ control, it was Coleshill who took the lead, scoring with their only effort of the first half after a quick breakaway.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Moors continued to press and were unfortunate not to level earlier, including seeing a penalty saved by the in-form Coleshill keeper. Meanwhile, Coleshill remained organised, keeping possession well and managing the game as the clock ticked down.
With time running out, Moors finally found a breakthrough. A well-worked free kick created the opportunity, and Andy Powers smashed home a deserved equaliser to take the game to penalties.
The shootout proved just as dramatic. Tony Newton produced a superb performance in goal, saving three Coleshill penalties. However, after a tense and extended shootout, Coleshill edged it 3–2 to progress to the final.
A hard-fought contest and a cruel end for Moors, who can take plenty of positives from a strong performance.
