BCWFL Over 65s – Final Match of the Season
CHAMPIONS 2025/2026 – 3rd Season in a Row
Solihull Moors Over 65s signed off a remarkable season in style with a 4–1 victory over Hartshill Walking Football, securing the BCWFL title and completing a record-breaking third consecutive championship.
Over the past three seasons, Moors have been simply outstanding — playing 34 games, winning 29, drawing 5 and remaining unbeaten throughout. A truly exceptional achievement that reflects consistency, quality and team spirit.
Played on a pleasant spring afternoon, Moors took control early, building confidently from the back and transitioning quickly into attack. Their pressure paid off when Graham Liddiard opened the scoring following some intricate build-up play. Brendan Mulcahy then doubled the lead with a sublime strike, a thunderous effort that arrowed into the top corner to give Moors a deserved 2–0 advantage at half time.
The second half proved more competitive, with both sides playing some excellent football. Mulcahy added his second of the match to make it 3–0, but Hartshill responded quickly to pull a goal back and set up a tense finish.
Hartshill pushed hard in the closing stages, striking the woodwork three times, while Bob Parry produced a series of outstanding fingertip saves to preserve Moors’ lead. With the game still in the balance, a late breakaway saw Mulcahy complete his hat-trick with a composed finish to seal a 4–1 victory.
At full time, the team collected their league shield and individual medals — a fitting reward for a truly outstanding season.
Champions once again.
