SOLIHULL MOORS 3 Vs COLESHILL STROLLERS WFC 1
BIRMINGHAM LEAGUE OVER 65s | 18.02.2026
The top two sides in the BCWFL Premier Over 65s Division met in what was billed as the fixture of the season — and it did not disappoint. With only goal difference separating the teams before kick-off, the stakes could not have been higher.
Solihull Moors made a sensational start. After twice striking the woodwork in the opening exchanges, Moors quickly turned pressure into goals. Brendan Mulcahy led the charge with two well-taken finishes, while Mark Jones added a third as Moors surged into a commanding 3–0 lead within the first few minutes.
It was a blistering spell that changed the complexion of the title race in an instant.
Coleshill Strollers responded before the break with a well-worked goal to make it 3–1, giving them renewed belief heading into half time.
The second half developed into a tactical battle. Coleshill pushed forward in search of a route back into the game, but Moors defended with discipline and composure. It became a chess-like contest, with Moors maintaining their shape and frustrating every attempt to break through their organised defensive lines.
The final whistle confirmed a massive 3–1 victory.
Moors now sit three points clear at the top of the league with a superior goal difference of +13 and just two matches remaining. Still unbeaten this season, the question now is whether Solihull Moors can secure a remarkable third consecutive championship title.
The wait is on.
