SOLIHULL MOORS 5 Vs WORCESTER CITY WALKING FOOTBALL 0
WORCESTER LEAGUE | 22.02.2026
Solihull Moors produced another outstanding team performance to secure a convincing 5–0 victory over Worcester City in the Over 50s Worcester League.
While the final score suggests dominance, the contest was finely balanced for much of the game. At 0–0, Moors remained disciplined and composed, knowing they were just one infringement away from conceding a penalty. However, the team showed remarkable control and professionalism, maintaining their shape and avoiding that costly final run.
As goalkeeper Eric Marshall reflected after the match:
“I have to say how impressed I was with the team in front of me today. The working together, the encouragement for each other and the steadiness with which the team built on their possession. It was close for much of the game at 0–0 and we sat one run away from a penalty for most of the game. Such was the professionalism of the team that they never incurred that last run penalty. Well done guys, most impressive.”
Moors’ patience and structure eventually paid off. Wayne Butler was in outstanding form, netting a superb hat-trick from open play. Mark Finney added another goal from open play and also converted confidently from the penalty spot to complete the scoring.
The scoreline could have been even greater, with two penalties going unconverted and several other clear chances created throughout the match.
Manager Tim Tyler praised the squad afterwards, thanking everyone for giving “110%” and for continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
Another strong display built on teamwork, discipline and collective effort.
