Bill Stokes, known to most as Billy, was born in 1959 and brings a huge amount of personality, passion and experience to Solihull Moors Walking Football Club. Away from football, Bill has a lifelong love of antiques and wood restoration, spending much of his downtime bringing old pieces back to life. On the pitch, he is a versatile forward or midfielder, always capable of producing moments of quality and creativity.
Bill has represented both the Midlands Irish and the National Irish walking football teams at multiple age groups, including the Over 50s, 60s and 65s. One of his proudest moments was scoring the first ever goal for the Ireland Walking Football Team at Boldmere — a memory he still cherishes.
He jokes that he enjoys “any food that’s bad for you,” but what truly motivates Billy is the friendships he has gained through walking football. As the founder of Solihull Moors Walking Football Club just 2.5 years ago, Bill continues to play a central role in shaping the club’s spirit and success.
