Bob Parry

Bob Parry is the proud and reliable goalkeeper for the Solihull Moors Over 65s team, known for his determination, sharp reflexes and his unwavering aim of keeping a clean sheet every time he steps between the posts. His walking football journey has been impressive, earning eight England Walking Football caps, where he first crossed paths with future teammates John McGinnell, John O’Dwyer, Mick O’Dwyer, Billy Stokes and Brendan Mulcahy during a memorable England vs Ireland fixture.

Family means everything to Bob, and his grandchildren are a huge part of his life. He is a regular supporter on the touchline, proudly following his two grandsons as they play football. Bob’s passion for the game extends beyond walking football, as he is also a dedicated Arsenal fan and season ticket holder, travelling regularly to watch his beloved club.

Bob credits John McGinnell with introducing him to Solihull Moors Walking Football Club, a move he remains deeply grateful for. Off the pitch, he has a love for good food — especially steak and oysters — and is an enthusiastic model railway hobbyist, enjoying the creativity and detail the pastime offers.
